Jack Fleming

Owner, Socialry Marketing & Scourz

Jack Fleming heads up Socialry Marketing, a social media management company. “Scourz has formed from our time on social media,” he said. “It’s a real-time sales lead search and notification service.” Fleming also serves as lead organizer for 1 Million Cups Wilmington, a weekly entrepreneurship presentation platform and community. The event takes place at 9 a.m. Wednesdays at the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

On tech habits and app favorites: “The most common way we use technology is to strategize, create, edit and distribute social media content for businesses. We use applications like Google Drive, Canva, the Adobe Suite and Buffer.”

Newsletters that keep him informed: “Other than the Wilmington Business Journal, I read a lot of email newsletters. The Network for Entrepreneurs in Wilmington email newsletter is great to stay up to date on local startups and entrepreneurial events. Morning Brew email newsletter is a great holistic business resource.”

When online, Fleming uses YouTube, MasterClass and Skillshare to get motivation and learn new skills. “A website I like for creative inspiration is Dribbble.”

Go-to podcasts include My First Million and The Colin & Samir Show focusing on the creator economy. “It’s very entertaining to watch/listen because of how new the space is and its relevance to my business.”
