Rocket pitches launch from UNCW Entrepreneurship Center

Find out about a local inventor’s new children’s bike that eliminates training wheels from learning how to ride. The UNCW Entrepreneurship Center will host a rocket pitch session with five local entrepreneurs on Wed., Oct. 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Each start-up will present their business model and growth strategy in a 5-minute pitch session. The presenting businesses span the technology, health, interior design, electric boat building and film industries.
"The event is to celebrate entrepreneurship. In the audience will be capital providers such as investors and commercial bankers," said Jonathan Rowe, director of the UNCW Entrepreneurship Center.
The organizers are expecting more than 75 members to attend. The event is open to new entrepreneurs and business leaders, but membership is encouraged. Refreshments and networking will follow the event. There is no cost to attend, but space is limited. RSVP on-line or by calling 962-2237.
The event will be on the UNCW campus at 601 South College Road and held in the Madeline Suite in the "East" portion of campus. Free parking is available in front of the building in Lot FF.
The start-up companies presenting will be Carolina Electric Boats, A Bunch of Us Productions LLC, Southeast Decorative Arts Center, Cortech Solutions and Glide Bikes.
