County hires public affairs manager

New Hanover County has hired Carey Disney Ricks as the county’s public affairs manager.
Ricks is scheduled to start the new position July 30.
She is currently chief communications officer for the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority.
“Ms. Ricks has been an essential member of the management team. From day one she has made and continues to make significant contributions toward the ongoing success of the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority. I am confident she will provide the same level of professionalism in her new role with New Hanover County.” said authority CEO Matt Jordan said in a statement.
