“HR Nightmares” Podcast – The Best of Season 2

Sponsored Content provided by Andy Almeter - President, Leath HR Group, LLC

First, why a podcast?!  Well, we call it the “book every HR professional wants to write, but hasn’t yet”.  Let’s face it, in the ever-surprising world of working with humans, everyday workplace situations can quickly go south leading to a myriad of personnel, legal, and financial woes.  These situations are not only excellent teaching moments, they can be downright hilarious!  And this is exactly why we started our podcast "HR Nightmares".

With a growing listener-base spanning 49 states and 44 countries, our downloads and channel view stats tell us we’re doing something right, all while advancing @Leath HR Group’s mission of putting the “human” back in Human Resources.  Our “pod” strikes the perfect balance between hilarity and seriousness, providing laughter and enlightenment in equal measure.

As we are approaching the wrap up of Season 2, we want to highlight a few of our favorite episodes from this season (and by the stats, some of your favorites too).

CFOs and the Human Resources Function
Mission Creep Alert!  For many organizations, especially in a company’s early stages, the people processes are handled by the financial leader … Why?  It usually begins with the organizations’ top expense, payroll.  By the way, these people problems are an absolute NIGHTMARE for most financial professionals.  In this episode, our guest, Chris Capone, CPA, Founder and President of Capone and Associates, shares with us why CFOs and Controllers are often tasked with the HR function and why it’s important for businesses to consider outsourcing to the experts.

Dealing with Difficult Co-Workers
Have you ever experienced an employee or manager that, quite possibly, came straight from hell? It seems like a lot of our listeners have! In these two episodes, Lisa, Beth and Amy share some of the most jaw-dropping stories from aggressive managers to employees.

This has been a huge topic of conversation over the past few years.  What do Gen Z like? What do they expect in the workplace?  We brought Michael Cooper of Marsh McLennan and Gabbi Plumez of Leath HR Group on the podcast to help business owners hear firsthand from Gen Z.
