Salling and Tate Dentistry Launches Annual "Gunner’s Runners" Shoe Collection Event, Aiming to Surpass Last Year's Success

Wilmington, NC – Salling and Tate Dentistry is proud to announce the commencement of its annual "Gunner’s Runners" shoe collection event. This shoe collection supports Gunner Robinson, a student in New Hanover County who wanted his community to start the school year off “on the right foot”. For Gunner’s birthday, he selflessly requested that instead of receiving gifts for himself, people should contribute shoes to be donated to kids in need. Now years later, Gunner’s Runners is an annual event that has now collected more than a thousand shoes for kids in need.

Following the tremendous success of last year's event, during which 74 shoes were collected, the dental practice is excited to once again rally the community's support and generosity.

The "Gunner’s Runners" event, in collaboration with local residents and businesses, strives to gather as many pairs of shoes as possible to benefit less fortunate children. From casual sneakers to sturdy boots, any new footwear can make a significant difference in the lives of recipients.

This year, Salling and Tate Dentistry's office will serve as a direct drop-off point for shoe donations. Starting from the event's kickoff in July and running through August 15th, the dental practice's office, located in Lumina Commons, will be open during regular business hours to accept contributions from kind-hearted individuals who want to contribute to the cause.

Salling and Tate Dentistry voiced their excitement to once again help host the Gunner’s Runners event and work together with our community to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need. Last year's response was truly heartwarming to Dr. Katlin Jameson, and she is confident that this year, with the help of the community, they can surpass their previous achievement and collect an even greater number of shoes.

All shoes collected during Gunner’s Runners will be distributed as needed by the school district to individuals who are in dire need of proper footwear. The initiative not only addresses a critical need within the community but also aligns with the values that Salling and Tate Dentistry uphold - compassion, empathy, and giving back to their community.

To participate in the Gunner’s Runners shoe collection event, community members are encouraged to drop off their shoe donations at Salling and Tate Dentistry's office, located at 2002 Eastwood Rd STE 105, Wilmington, NC 28403. The office is open from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Thursday.

For more information about the Gunner’s Runners event or any other inquiries, individuals can join the “Gunner’s Runners” Facebook group for all the latest updates.

Join Salling and Tate Dentistry in making a positive impact and providing much-needed support to children in need. Let us come together as a community and demonstrate the power of compassion and generosity by exceeding last year's success in shoe collection!
