Three Hot Trends to Incorporate into Your Business

Sponsored Content provided by Marty Cayton - President & Owner, TeamLogic IT of Wilmington & Fayetteville

Trends can be fun!

Using hot new technologies and apps can make you feel like you are on the cutting edge. Adding them to your business can make your work not only easier to manage and complete, but they can even make it more fun to do your job, as well.

The Consumerization of IT

There are a lot of tech trends that start off in consumer markets and eventually make their way into the business realm. So many in fact that this phenomenon has been called “the consumerization of IT.”

But, you may be wondering, how does this happen?

Imagine you have several new and handy tech applications you use at home to keep track of your bookkeeping, scheduling or even just to make everything download and perform faster. Working with any similar task at the office with technology that isn’t as efficient or fast quickly begins to feel old and out-of-date. We are all consumers and we all want our technology to perform well, so we continually push the newer and better tech so there is not as much disparity between what we use at home and what we use at work.

New technologies are often introduced in the workplace by staff that likes to investigate new things. Instead of avoiding upgrades and change, investigate new ways to improve and adapt tech into your business - always remembering to check your security practices to make sure the new tech is compatible.

It is a good bet that the following three hot technologies will likely soon become a normal part of business life. As always, TeamLogic IT can help you integrate them quickly, so you can remain on top of the latest and greatest.

Virtual Assistants

As artificial intelligence evolves, virtual assistants will increase in value in the business world. People are becoming more and more used to chatbots and mobile messaging. We are already used to asking Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri to perform tasks for us at home. As virtual assistants evolve to perform more sophisticated tasks, they will surely trickle into the workplace, too.

Voice Recognition

As virtual assistants become part of our daily life, voice recognition will continue to improve. We can communicate effectively using voice with our devices now, but soon it will become even easier to talk normally and conversationally and have our device or service understand our requests. As this technology develops, many foresee it becoming a valuable resource for sales and marketing teams everywhere.

5G

The new 5G wireless network is faster, has fewer delays and can handle more traffic than the networks we work with today. This means things will load and download significantly quicker, there will be fewer blips and buffering when trying to watch or do things online, and it will have more capacity to handle different (and larger) services concurrently. A more enjoyable user experience will result, and companies will want to deliver the same experience to employees. Although it may still take some time for this service to fully roll out, it is always a good idea to be prepared for quick implementation when it’s ready.

Whatever kind of new technology you want to explore, ask your trusted IT Managed Services Provider to help you find out more about it, determine if it can work with your current security setup (or how to adapt your security to accommodate it), and even suggest ways to incorporate it into your business.
