UNCW Board Of Trustees Elects Officers

The UNCW Board of Trustees elected officers for the 2020-21 academic year, according to a news release.

Henry "Hal" Kitchin was named board chair, Gidget Kidd is vice-chair, and Henry “Hank” Miller III was named the board secretary, stated the release.

Kitchin has been a member of the board since 2013. He has been re-elected as chair, leading the board, the executive committee and the endowment board, stated the release. 

Kitchin has also served as chair of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce and the Cape Fear Future Foundation. He is also a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Coastal Horizons Center Inc. and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation. 

Kidd has been a member of the board since 2013. She is a current member and past chair of the Asheboro City Schools Board of Education, and has been engaged as a leader in numerous community organizations. She currently serves as a member of the audit, risk and compliance committee, the external affairs committee and the executive committee, stated the release.

Miller is a Wrightsville Beach resident and member of the board since 2015. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Aldermen for the Town of Wrightsville Beach, and has served in leadership roles with many civic organizations. He acts as the chair of the educational planning and programs committee, and is a member of the audit, risk and compliance, business affairs and executive committees.
