Patrick Mincey, a partner at Cranfill Sumner LLP, has been appointed to serve on the N.C. Advisory Committee for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, according to a news release.

Mincey began his role on the committee in May, officials said.

“Created under the Civil Rights Act of 1957, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is a bipartisan, independent commission of the federal government that investigates, reports on and makes recommendations to the President of the United States and Congress regarding civil rights throughout the country. State advisory committees examine various issues surrounding the criminal justice system such as policing practices, hate crimes, voting rights, and questions surrounding solitary confinement in the prison system,” stated the release.

Mincey is based in the Wilmington and Raleigh offices of CSH Law. He serves as the chair of the firm’s White Collar, Government Investigations & Special Matters Practice Group.

“We congratulate Patrick on this prestigious appointment. He is an accomplished attorney who has dedicated his career to helping clients across the globe, and his passion for helping others will be a great asset to this Committee,” said Marshall Wall, managing partner of CSH Law, in the release.

Mincey represents domestic and foreign clients in litigation throughout the United States and investigations worldwide, officials said in the release.
