In November 2021, the N.C. Association of Government Information Officers (NCAGIO) recognized H2GO in two award categories.

H2GO’s Public Information Officer Tyler Wittkofsky was recognized for the top award, the Ernie Seneca Award for Excellence in Public Service, according to a news release.

NCAGIO also recognized H2GO for second place in the Campaign/Community Engagement category for its aquifer-sourced reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant communications plan.

The association awards the Ernie Seneca Award for Excellence in Public Service to current NCAGIO members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty while working in the communications profession for local or state government agencies. This award highlights the positive ways in which the NCAGIO member has contributed to his or her agency/organization, community, and colleagues.

Wittkofsky, who previously served as the president of the Board of Directors for the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, secretary of the Communities in Schools of Brunswick County’s Board of Directors, and the Board of Directors for Brunswick Family Assistance.

“I’m honored to be recognized by the North Carolina Association of Government Information Officers for the Ernie Seneca Award for Excellence in Public Service,” Wittkofsky said in the release. “I have always taken pride in caring for my community and my coworkers. H2GO has developed several community-based programs I am proud to be part of.”

The RO water treatment communications plan included utilization of social media as the main targeting tool for customers.

The release stated, "H2GO created appealing graphics and videos at least once a month that highlighted the construction progress on the project. H2GO also included bill inserts into their plan and advertising in local publications and television."
