Brian Mingia, executive director of The Healing Place of New Hanover County, has been named the recipient of a 2024 Impact Award by Vistage, a CEO coaching and peer advisory organization for small- and mid-size businesses.

According to a news release, the Impact Award "recognizes the remarkable development and achievement of trailblazing leaders. From community impact to leadership development, dedicated leaders reach significant heights within their first years as Vistage members, with lasting impact on their company, peers and community."

A native of Greensboro, Mingia earned undergraduate degrees in economics from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a master's degree in health administration from UNC Charlotte.

"With nearly two decades in the mental health and human services field, Brian has built a robust career linking individuals to care and advancing through various administrative roles," the release stated. "His extensive experience spans hospital facilities and community-based mental health and substance use service providers across the state."

John Monahan, Vistage chair, stated in the release, “From the moment I met Brian in early 2023 and invited him to join my Wilmington area Peer Advisory Group, I knew that I had met a passionate, dedicated and tireless leader whose personal and professional background were the building blocks of servant leadership. This is clearly evidenced by the impact that Brian is having on his team, those suffering from substance abuse and addiction in the Greater Wilmington community, and his fellow business Peers in the group in which he participates.  Helping others grow and improve is the cornerstone of great leadership and Brian epitomizes that.”
