Museum Announces Board Chair, Four New Members

Cameron Art Museum recently announced the appointment of Frances H. Goodman as board of trustees chair. Goodman has been serving on the CAM Board of Trustees since October 2023, replacing outgoing chair Greg C. Miller. 

Miller has served as the museum’s Board of Trustees Chair since October 11, 2022, and will remain on the board serving on both the Executive Committee and as chair of Trustees and Governance Committee.

The museum is also welcoming four new board members. Ryan Bisplinghoff, Blair Kutrow, Loleta Robinson and L. Drew Rosen join for a three-year term. 

These new Board members bring years of professional experience and key community relationships to benefit Cameron Art Museum and contribute to its mission as a cultural gathering place that enriches the lives of museum visitors and the community through high-quality exhibitions, lifelong learning in the arts, dynamic public programs, and stewardship and interpretation of the museum’s collection. 

Heather Wilson, Cameron Art Museum’s executive director, stated in the release that Goodman's leadership "will move the museum forward into the future. In addition, we are all looking forward to having Ryan, Blair, Loleta and Drew join our board. They each bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for supporting the arts in eastern NC.”

Goodman has been in the financial services industry for 40 years. She started her career with The Robinson-Humphrey Company in Charlotte and moved with that firm to Wilmington in 1992.  She is currently a financial advisor and certified financial Planner with The Murchison Group.  Frances is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where she received a bachelor's degree in art history. Over the past 30 years, she has been involved with numerous charitable organizations in Wilmington.

Bisplinghoff is the director of project development for Clancy & Theys Construction’s Wilmington Division, where he focuses on client relations, new project pursuits, strategic planning, and risk management. "With over 15 years of experience, including nearly a decade in Wilmington, he has established himself as a community leader with a successful track record in business development and a passion for fostering growth in the region. Before his current role, Ryan practiced law, serving as managing partner for a Wilmington office where he doubled its size and significantly grew revenue. He holds a BA in History and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a JD from Campbell University. Ryan is actively involved in numerous professional, social, and philanthropic organizations and enjoys outdoor activities, golf, and family time with his wife and three daughters."

Kutrow is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in executive leadership, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit service. After earning a Phi Beta Kappa degree in history from the University of North Carolina in 1984 and completing a strategic leadership certificate at Georgetown's Business School, she spent 25 years in leadership roles within the telecommunications industry, including at Vanguard/Cellular One, Sprint/Nextel, and XM Radio. "Since 2013, she has been a successful franchise owner of Sola Salon Studios, managing three locations in Wilmington, NC, and serving on the Sola Franchise Advisory Board," the release stated. "Blair is deeply engaged in nonprofit work, holding leadership positions with organizations such as MOVE NYC, Trey McIntyre Project, and Oasis, among others, and contributing to causes ranging from literacy and autism support to arts and diversity in dance."

Robinson is a seasoned physician entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years of experience in venture capital, healthcare innovation, and business leadership. As the President and CEO of Fortis Industries, LLC, she has excelled in strategic investment management, including founding a $10 million corporate venture fund for consumer-centered health technologies and managing portfolios exceeding $150 million. Her career includes key roles such as Medical Science Director at MedImmune Vaccines (AstraZeneca) and Entrepreneur in Residence at the NIH SEED program. Dr. Robinson holds an MD from the University of Kansas, an MBA in Health Administration from the University of Colorado Denver, a BA in Microbiology from the University of Kansas, and a Certificate in Venture Capital Finance from UC Berkeley School of Law. She also actively contributes to various advisory boards, leveraging her expertise to drive innovation in health tech and life sciences.

Rosen holds a PhD in Operations Management from the University of South Carolina, an MBA and a BS in Marketing from Old Dominion University, along with a professional certification in "The Theory of Constraints" (JONAH). He is the Duke Energy/Gordon Hulbert Distinguished Professor of Supply Chain Management at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), where he directs the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program and teaches operations and project management. Rosen has served in leadership roles, including as the 2002 International President and CEO of APICS, and on multiple academic and professional boards. "A globally recognized consultant and lecturer, he has worked with Fortune 500 companies and taught extensively across several countries, focusing on optimizing supply chains, project management, and process efficienciesm," the release stated. "His extensive research is widely published in esteemed journals and conference proceedings."
