The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern North Carolina recently announced the addition of four distinguished professionals to its board of directors: David Andrews, Karen Barefoot, Robert Keith and Liz Scanlon.

"With their diverse expertise and passion for serving the community, these new board members will play a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens," a news release stated.

Andrews (pictured at right) brings over three decades of experience in local government, most recently serving as manager of Pender County.

As a Hall of Fame basketball coach, Barefoot (pictured below) "embodies determination, strategic thinking and mentorship," according to the release. "Her ability to inspire individuals to achieve their full potential aligns seamlessly with our mission to empower youth. Beyond coaching, Karen is an accomplished author and advocate for youth development."

Scanlon, executive director of the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, brings over 20 years of experience in arts administration.
