Cape Fear Realtors recently announced that Seth Davis has been hired as the organization's government affairs director.

Davis will lead the association’s advocacy efforts to promote policies that protect property rights, support housing affordability, and encourage sustainable community development across southeastern North Carolina, according to a news release.

As part of this role, Davis will connect with legislators, regulatory bodies and industry leaders "to ensure the real estate community has a powerful voice in shaping public policy," the release stated.

"With a strong track record in navigating complex political landscapes and achieving meaningful results, Davis brings valuable insight to our ongoing efforts to address the unique housing challenges in our region," stated Janet Kane, CEO of CFR, in the release. "At Cape Fear Realtors, we remain dedicated to promoting policies that build stronger, healthier communities and supporting professionals across various industries."

Davis holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver, an MBA and a bachelor's degree in psychology. From 2022 to 2025, he served as a policy advisor in the first term for Mayor Tim Kelly of the city of Chattanooga, where he played a central role in addressing the homelessness crisis, promoting affordable housing and securing Chattanooga’s selection as a Bloomberg American Sustainable City, according to the release.

He also worked as a policy advisor for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and as deputy director of outreach for the Colorado Governor’s Joint Vaccine Task Force, managing public engagement efforts during Colorado’s COVID-19 response. Earlier in his career, Davis served as a program analyst for the Department of Defense from 2018 to 2019, the release stated.

A 20-year retired U.S. military veteran, Davis served 10 years on active duty as an infantryman and Special Operations Combat Medic and another 10 years in the Army National Guard.
