Blake Abbott has joined the Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner LLP as an associate attorney, according to a news release.
He focuses his practice on defending physicians, health care providers and medical practices in complex, high-exposure matters, the release stated.
Abbott, who has represented physicians and medical groups in medical malpractice actions, will be a member of the firm’s medical malpractice practice group. His legal career began in nationwide class action and mass tort litigation, where he handled high-stakes, multi-million-dollar claims across the country, according to the release.
He is a graduate of the Charleston School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and served on the Moot Court Board as sergeant at arms. He received his bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, where he graduated with a degree in biology.
