Trust Mortgage Expands Into Brunswick County

Wilmington-based Trust Mortgage has opened a second office in Southport at 5201 Southport-Supply Road. The grand opening took place in mid-September.

“We have a lot of Realtor partners in that area and have done a lot of business there,” Trust Mortgage owner Wally Simpson said when asked why the firm chose the southern Brunswick County city of Southport as its expansion location.

The new office is managed by mortgage broker Ashley Parks, who was with BB&T as a mortgage officer for five years before joining Trust Mortgage in August.

Simpson launched Trust Mortgage in March 2020 and was its only mortgage broker at the outset. The firm now employs 11 people: seven brokers and four operations team members.

The brokers handle new purchase mortgages as well as refinances in North and South Carolina, Simpson said.

The Wilmington office is at 4010 Oleander Drive, Suite 2.
