A Charlotte-area independent public accounting firm is opening a Wilmington office in September.
According to a news release, the new office of Fisher, P.A. will occupy the firm’s new 10,000-square-foot professional flex office building at 2700 Old Wrightsboro Road, Suite 140, in Wilmington.
Fisher officials anticipate creating 10 to 15 new jobs over the next three to five years, including opportunities for CPAs, accountants, tax professionals, client advisors and administrative professionals, the release stated.
The Wilmington location has been established as a strategic regional hub, officials said in the release, serving clients throughout southeastern North Carolina, inc
luding New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, Onslow and surrounding counties, while working with the firm’s Charlotte headquarters.
“Our Wilmington office represents much more than a second location,” stated Emily Fisher, president and owner of Fisher, P.A., in the release. “It reflects our long-term commitment to the businesses and entrepreneurs who are fueling the growth of southeastern North Carolina. We believe this region deserves access to the same sophisticated accounting, tax planning and business advisory services typically found in metropolitan markets, delivered with the personalized attention of a local firm.”
Operations for the Wilmington office will be led by Nicole Stokes (pictured at right), "whose leadership has been instrumental in the firm’s continued growth," according to the release. In addition to the daily operations supervision, she will foster "close collaboration and operational synergy between the Charlotte headquarters and the new coastal location."
Also helping to establish the Wilmington office is Juan A. Pagán-Gonzalez (pictured below), CPA, who is relocating from the firm’s Charlotte headquarters.
For Emily Fisher, the Wilmington expansion carries special significance, the release stated, because she is a University of North Carolina Wilmington graduate who has maintained "strong ties" to the Cape Fear region.
“UNC Wilmington helped shape my professional journey, and I’ve always believed Wilmington possesses one of the most dynamic business environments in North Carolina,” Fisher said. “Opening this office allows us to invest in the community that has meant so much to me while supporting the remarkable growth occurring throughout the region.”
Fisher, P.A. was founded in Charlotte nearly three decades ago, and Emily Fisher acquired the original practice in 2014.
According to the release, the Wilmington expansion supports "Fisher, P.A.’s vision of becoming one of the premier regional accounting and business advisory firms in the Carolinas while creating new professional career opportunities for the growing Wilmington business community."
