Wilmington-based Cape Fear Seafood Company (CFSC), which operates three locations locally and another in North Raleigh, announced the opening of its second Raleigh restaurant at 2018 Clark Avenue in the newly named Village District (formerly Cameron Village).

Monday’s opening to the public was preceded by four reservation-only charity events benefitting The First Tee of the Triangle and The Trawick Pediatric Cardiology Fund at Duke Children’s Hospital. 

The new location is operated by Raleigh franchise partners Eddie Elliott and Matt Wivell, who also have the location at 832 Spring Forest Road in North Raleigh. 

“We are very excited to add the Village District to our list of locations,” said CFSC founder and franchise owner Evans Trawick. “The Raleigh location has had a successful first couple of years, all things considered, and the opportunity in the Village District is one that Eddie and Matt couldn’t pass up.”

Trawick said that like many in the industry, CFSC was deeply impacted in 2020 by the COVID-10 pandemic and continues to struggle with the labor market and supply chains. But he said he believes the company will be able to overcome those challenges and is already seeing strong sales growth over the past few months.

“We expect to have a good year in 2021 as compared to 2020,” Trawick said. 

Trawick said the company has adapted several aspects of its daily operations to deal with today’s new reality, including online ordering and third-party delivery, and locally, all employees were offered a bonus for getting a COVID-19 vaccination.

“I am proud to say that our staff, which has been amazing through this all, has been approximately 75% vaccinated to date,” Trawick said. 

In addition to a wide range of fresh seafood, each CFSC location offers craft beer, wine, and a full bar. Daily drink specials are offered Sunday through Thursday, including half-price bottles of wine on Tuesday.
