Healing Place Sets Tours, Shares Latest Statistics

Officials are inviting the public to an open house and tours this month at The Healing Place of New Hanover County (THPNC), a long-term recovery facility operated by Trillium Health Resources.

The events take place from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11 and participants can register at app.smartsheet.com/b/form/8abb2a99f907463d8f9d480db95840d9.

In April, officials provided a snapshot of THPNC’s services in March, its second month of operation:
  • In partnership with Cape Fear HealthNet, 47 adults were enrolled with primary health care.  
  • THPNC men’s program served 91 individuals, with ages ranging from 23 to 73. 
  • THPNC women’s program served 64 individuals, with ages ranging from 21 to 75. 
  • THPNC men’s emergency shelter remained at 90% capacity.
  • THPNC women’s emergency shelter remained at 40% capacity or above.
  • 76% of THPNC clients had direct ties to New Hanover County.  
  • Clients from 16 additional counties in Eastern NC were served. 
  • The top drugs of addiction for individuals being served are methamphetamine, alcohol, opiates and marijuana.
