Michelle Fogle

Owner, Fleet Feet Wilmington

As the owner of Fleet Feet in Wilmington, a specialty running and walking store, Fogle said she helps customers by using a mix of technology, education and experience.

“From managing inventory, to tracking orders, to my daily tasks, I use apps, my phone and my Garmin watch to help me manage throughout the day.”

Fleet Feet uses FitID technology every day at the store.

"It captures a 3-D image of a customer's foot which provides us a complete view of a person's foot profile that allows us to fit them into a shoe that best fits their foot," she said.

She likes to read the Greater Wilmington Business Journal to stay on top of what’s happening with local business and development, and she subscribes to several morning news briefs covering local, national and international news, as well as digital magazine Running Insight.

Websites she visits for fun include ESPN, Food Network and NC MileSplit.

Favorite podcasts include Omnibus. “It is a podcast on everything. Different, random topics each episode on all types of subject matter,” she said. “And Six Minute Mile because it is full of news, ideas and inspirational stories from around the running and fitness industries.”

She enjoys watching Jeopardy, “because who doesn't want to feel not smart at least once during the day,” as well as Ozark and Shark Tank.

A recent favorite book was “The Expanse” series by James S. A. Corey and she also recommends “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens and “The Stand” by Stephen King.

Apps she uses frequently include Facebook and Instagram for marketing and interacting with customers, Strava and Untappd.
