Everything We Do, We Do It For You. National Recognition Is Deserved, But Community Motivates Us To Do Our Best.

Sponsored Content provided by Ernie Bovio - President, New Hanover Regional Medical Center Novant Health

When national organizations recognize Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center for various services, we swell with pride. It feels good to be recognized for our expertise, dedication, and commitment. But the accolades are not what drive us to provide such remarkable care.

We do it for you.

Our neighbors and community members inspire us to provide safe, high-quality care every day. I’m still meeting new people, and I always hear stories about how someone’s aunt, grandmother, or next-door neighbor received amazing care at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Sometimes, the person I meet had a child born at Novant Health Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital, or they underwent a life-saving surgery at our main hospital, or recovered from a stroke under the care of our compassionate team at the Novant Health New Hanover Rehabilitation Hospital.

Our community relies on our team to provide expert care. Last year, we had more than 200,000 patient visits to the emergency departments in the Coastal Region. We delivered more than 5,000 babies and performed over 40,000 surgeries. In every interaction, our team members use their training and expertise to ensure that you receive the best possible care.

I see how Novant Health touches the community, and I’m proud to acknowledge our amazing team when they are recognized for their work. These honors and recognitions aren’t awarded arbitrarily. Our teams earn those awards by producing exceptional clinical outcomes and exceeding the safety and quality metrics established by the awarding organizations.

For instance, the incredible team at the Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital has been recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals for three consecutive years. New Hanover Regional Medical Center is a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery. We are also a DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center – a testament to our team’s commitment to using technology and innovation to ensure patients get treatment as quickly as possible.

Our team at Novant Health Brunswick Endoscopy Center has earned the title of a Best Ambulatory Surgery Center from Newsweek. Our Novant Health Wilmington Endoscopy Center has been named a Best Ambulatory Surgery Center for four consecutive years. Additionally, Healthgrades has named us among the top 50 in the nation for outpatient joint replacement and outpatient orthopedic surgery.

Yes, it’s an impressive list of awards and honors. And there are many more we could mention. But let’s focus on the most important point: our clinicians do not come to work each day dreaming of awards and recognition. They combine their expertise with Novant Health's technology and resources with one goal in mind – treating you with safe, quality care that empowers you to live your healthiest possible life.
