RentCafe performed a nationwide study of the best cities across the U.S. for remote work and Wilmington landed 30th on the list.

Released Nov. 22, the study weighed 19 attributes for 150 cities. The analysis found the most desirable cities for remote workers looking to relocate in the Southeast due to its mix of offerings, including affordability and "remote work readiness."

“If you’re ready to move, look toward the South and Southeast,” RentCafe announced in sharing the study. The index shows prospective relocators where remote workers get the best value for their money, the announcement states.

Attributes considered in the overall ranking include sunny days in a year, days with good air quality, cost of living, share of apartments with access to sports amenities, share of new apartments, share of remote workers, short-term rentals and more.

Nearby Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte and Greensboro ranked second, fifth, 12th and 22nd overall, respectively. Wilmington ranked 30th for leisure, 37th for comfort, 42nd for rental demand, 53rd for remote work readiness, according to a release.
