April Jones Insurance Opening Second Location In Hampstead

By Christina Haley O'Neal, posted Apr 5, 2021
A local insurance firm is slated to open a second location in Hampstead.

April Jones Insurance Services, which handles home, auto and personal loans insurance, is awaiting permits to build in Hampstead Village on South End Court, said April Jones, founder and president of the firm.

Jones is slated to build a 2,800-square-foot building with eight office spaces, she said.

The current location is at 5016 Oleander Drive, Jones said, adding that plans are keep that location in Wilmington to serve the market.

Jones has been in the insurance industry for 11 years, and started working independently in 2017.

There are five people employed by the firm currently, Jones said. However, Jones said she expects to hire following the building's construction.

April Jones Insurance is working with Rocky Mount-based builder Chambliss & Rabil Contractors Inc. for its office construction. Pending permit approvals, the building is anticipated to be ready in September, she said. The firm is investing nearly $550,000 in the area to build its second location in Hampstead.

Jones chose the Hampstead location because it's where her home is, and for the growing market.

"I just feel like Hampstead has taken off," Jones said. "I wanted the second location to be in Pender County to focus north of Pender, Onslow [County] and upward."
