Avelo Airlines announced four new nonstop flights at Wilmington International Airport (ILM) on Tuesday, with new destinations including Houston and Detroit.

The budget airline will begin new flights to Houston via William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), Washington, D.C.’s Dulles Airport (IAD), Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) and New York/Long Island via Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP), starting in June.

The announcements are the latest in a slate of new nonstop flights from Avelo. In December, the airline announced plans to establish a crew base at ILM. The airline currently serves 11 nonstop destinations from ILM.

“We continue to inspire travel by growing our service in Wilmington with these four new routes, offering our customers even more choices,” Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy wrote in a release on Tuesday.

“As the only airline offering nonstop service to these destinations from ILM, we are making it more convenient and affordable for our Wilmington-area customers to enjoy 15 popular vacation destinations, while making it easier for out-of-state visitors to experience the best of Coastal North Carolina.”

Each of the new flights will operate twice a week on Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Service to Houston will begin June 11, while service to Washington D.C.’s Dulles airport begins June 13. Flights to Detroit and New York/Long Island both begin on June 12.

“We’re excited to see Avelo growing again at ILM,” ILM Airport Director Jeff Bourk stated in Tuesday’s release. “With their upcoming base opening and increasing number of flights, we’re thrilled to see the partnership continue to grow.”
