A commercial real estate group based in the Wilmington area bestowed awards on three of its members.
Hansen Matthews, partner in commercial real estate firm Maus, Warwick & Matthews, won the Realtors Commercial Alliance of Southeastern North Carolina (RCASENC) Lifetime Achievement Award.
Realtors presented the award at Thursday's sixth annual Cape Fear CREW Awards of Excellence ceremony at the Wilmington Convention Center.
"The Commercial Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates a member who has demonstrated first-class service, leadership and professionalism," RCASENC officials said in a news release. "This impact is seen not only in their firm but is revered in our regional community as a whole."
A Wilmington native, Matthews began his career in 1981 and has been a partner in his firm since 1987. Outside work, his volunteer leadership has

included serving as director and past president of RCASENC and director for the Cape Fear Realtors board.
Byron Aynes
(shown with his award at left) with The Overton Group, a commercial real estate firm located at 2601 Iron Gate Drive in Wilmington, received the organization's Member of the Year Award. He has served as director, treasurer and chair of the brand development committee for RCASENC.
"Not only is he vice president and partner in his firm and a broker in charge, he somehow finds time to be a top-producing broker in in

vestment sales, tenant representation and commercial development," the release stated.
John Gavin
(shown with his award at far right) of Cameron Management, an investment management company focusing on real estate development, brokerage and property management at 1201 Glen Meade Road, received RCASENC's Commercial Real Estate Rockstar Award.
Gavin began at Cameron Management as an intern during his last semester at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
According to the awards presentation, Gavin is best known "for his infectiously positive attitude, described as contagious around his office." Officials also said Gavin's "notable growth over the past three years informs the positive trajectory of his commercial real estate career. As a lifelong North Carolinian, this recipient loves golfing and fishing and happens to be recently engaged."
Realtors in Wilmington established RCASENC in 1975 as a commercial council within the Cape Fear Realtors.
