A downtown Wilmington property that's been vacant for at least six years was sold recently for a little over $2.8 million, according to a Dec. 2 deed.

Incognito LLC bought 216-220 N. Front St. from The Hive Expo LLC, and entity registered to Charlotte Rosenberg, wife of Robert Rosenberg, state and county records show. The new owner's identity could not immediately be confirmed this week; Incognito LLC is registered to an attorney and lists a PO Box in Wilmington as its address.

The three-story building holds 10,800 square feet and has a central business district (CBD) zoning designation.

Robert Rosenberg, who died in 2023, bought 216-220 N. Front St. for $2.75 million in October 2021. Before his death, he had also owned The Hive at 505 N. Second St. with partner Kaylie O'Connor. O'Connor and Robert Rosenberg had at one time been planning to turn the nearly 120-year-old building into a boutique hotel.

The owners before the Rosenbergs had the structure gutted and renovated in 2015, opening in 2016 as nonprofit museum Expo 216. The museum closed in 2018 when previous owners Linda Look and partner Wade Hughes retired to Mexico.

The vacant building next door was sold this year. Logan Zanki bought 224 N. Front St. from Shaw University for $953,500 in June and opened an escape room business.
