Riverllights has more growing to do.
Crews recently finished or are building new facilities, and developers have plans for more features in the 1,400-acre master-planned community off River Road. Recent developments include the start of construction of a 3,048-square-foot amenity and recreation center, Riverhouse. Riverlights hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the project Wednesday.
Mark Loudermilk Architecture designed the clubhouse, while Monteith Construction Corp. is the general contractor, according to a news release.
"Completion is projected for winter 2025," the release stated.
According to the release, the clubhouse, on a 2.42-acre site, will offer gathering spaces, a community kitchen, meeting areas, a fitness facility, a screened porch and

an outdoor gas fireplace. Outdoor recreation will include four pickle ball courts, with north/south orientation and a viewing porch; a saltwater swimming pool and deck with three lap lanes and tanning shelf; and a pool deck with permanent shade structures, the release stated.
The Riverhouse is the second clubhouse and recreation amenity for residents of Riverlights. The Lakehouse opened in 2016.
A recent addition to Riverlights is a dentist's office. In 2024, WMG Development started building a 5,000-square-foot professional office, and Dental Care at Riverlights opened in February, Riverlights officials have said in an updated fact sheet.
Riverlights officials on Thursday also provided an update on 7Bridge, a 121-acre mixed-use village expected to include a second (in addition to the existing Marina Village) pedestrian friendly commercial hub. Apartments and rental cottages are complete at 7Bridge, and in the works are a180-unit senior living facility called Luminance and a Refuel gas station and convenience store.
KQC Investors bought 1.5 acres from NNP IV Cape Fear RIver LLC for $500,000 in October last year with plans to build a 10,000-square-foot early learning and childcare facility.
"The Foundations Early Learning Center estimated completion is early 2026," according to the community fact sheet.
Additionally, a future public park with access to Motts Creek is expected to be dedicated to the city of Wilmington.
Managed by Brookfield properties, Riverlights is set to hold 3,100 homes upon completion in 2026, including age-qualified, single-family, duplexes, townhomes, apartments and single-family-for-rent.
