Developers included a photo in the Cottages at College Acres site plans submitted to the city of Wilmington.
A project that includes three- and four-bedroom apartments could be on the way to College Acres Drive near the University of North Carolina Wilmington, according to site plans submitted to the city.

The project, called "Cottages at College Acres" on renderings included with the plans, would involve building five, three-story multi-family buildings and nine two-story duplexes.

The developer is listed as College Acres Development LLC, 5217 Market St., Wilmington. Efforts to reach someone with the firm were not immediately successful Thursday.

According to the Paramounte Engineering Inc. plans, Cottages at College Acres would also include a 2,700-square-foot, one-story amenity building and a pool.

The more than 5-acre site, at 4729-4757 College Acres Drive, currently holds single-family homes, the plans state, but is zoned for multi-family uses.

Eighteen of the units are expected to be four-bedroom apartments and 60 of them are set to have three bedrooms for a total of 252 beds.

A city Technical Review Committee meeting had not been scheduled for the project yet as of Thursday afternoon.
