A firm specializing in luxury real estate in the Wilmington area announced Thursday the addition of a CEO.

Daniel Malechuk is taking the helm at Landmark Sotheby’s International Realty, a company that was founded by broker Nick Phillips.

“Landmark Sotheby’s has experienced strong growth over the past several years and has reached an inflection point. We are thrilled to have an executive of Daniel Malechuk’s caliber joining our team and his proven business acumen and stellar track record of scaling companies, growing market share, building teams and focusing on premium service will fit well with the Landmark Sotheby’s culture,”  Phillips said in a news release.

Malechuk is a veteran global senior executive and has spent the past 20 years managing and growing several of the world’s leading companies including ALDI and Shamrock Foods, the release stated.

Most recently, Malechuk was CEO of Kalera, where he led the vertical farming company "from its startup roots to an international business through building the executive team, bringing the company into the international media spotlight, landing high-profile customers, raising several hundred million dollars, completing an IPO, and executing major domestic and international M&A transactions," according to the release.

Malechuk has received numerous awards and accolades, including being inducted into Bishop McGuinness High School’s Hall of Fame for Distinguished Alumnus in 2016, named a Produce Business 40 Under 40 winner in 2020, CEO of the Year Award 2020 – CEO Monthly Magazine, Executive Hero of the Year – Bronze Winner by the CEO World Awards in 2020, Produce Person of the Year by Artemis in 2021 and Orlando Business Journal’s inaugural Power Players award winner in 2021, the release stated.

A North Carolina native, Malechuk is a real estate broker and Realtor and holds a degree in business management from N.C. State University, where he was a Park Scholar. He received an executive MBA from the University of Arizona.

“Landmark Sotheby’s is uniquely positioned to continue its strong growth in serving the Coastal Carolina luxury real estate market. I am excited to join this team and look forward to working with this group of highly experienced and proven leaders in the brokerage industry as we continue to unlock and leverage the power of the Sotheby’s brand,” Malechuk stated in the release.  “Landmark’s commitment to premium service, leveraging innovative marketing tools, and providing unparalleled attention to detail have resulted in achieving the highest average sales price in the markets we serve. I look forward to continuing to grow our market share, adding new brokers to the team, and having more clients experience the Landmark Sotheby’s advantage.”
