PlayerSpace, a sports management software company, has moved offices to a larger location to accommodate for its growth, Todd John, the company's founder and president said Monday.
The Wilmington-based business now occupies the whole building at 527 Causeway Drive in Wrightsville Beach, a space that is 4,400 square feet – double its previous location at 1721 Allens Lane, Suite 203.
The company has 15 employees, up from the eight employees it had when it was
named Coastal Entrepreneur of the Year in 2017.
John said the company plans on having 20 employees within the next six to 12 months.
“We’ve hit our stride,” John said. “We built a strong brand among a niche market and we have continued to add products and services that are being well received. We, as a software platform, provide a very sticky experience that our customers rely on to manage their businesses.”
Some of the services PlayerSpace has added include RiskMGT, a risk management system that allows organizations to collect, monitor and report background checks and required documentation for volunteers and staff.
“We’ve also added a whole new camp application for summer camp and residence camps that has kept us more than busy,” John said.
One of their most popular services is its swim lesson management system, SwimWins, which PlayerSpace provides to YMCAs across the country, he said.
Besides its business partnership with YMCA, the company has been doing a lot of work with parks and recreation departments and providing free services to organizations such as the Miracle League, which gives children and adults with mental and physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in sports.
Currently, the company is hiring three employees to help continue its growth.
“Our roadmap includes us adding more customers, more services and selling all of our new services and applications to all of our existing customers,” John said. “We launched a lot of new applications so it's keeping us more than busy just selling and supporting new sales.”
