Local Tropical Smoothie Cafe franchise owners, Brandon and Deena Korman, will open a third location at 143 Poole Road in Leland on Sept. 10.

The Kormans operate two other TSC locations, at Long Leaf Mall on South College Road and in the Bayshore Commons shopping center in Porters Neck.

The new cafe is part of a building developed by local restaurateur Evans Trawick, owner of Cape Fear Seafood Company. Trawick purchased the land, which is part of the Waterford development, and built a 13,000-square-foot mixed-use facility that houses Cape Fear Seafood Company and TSC on the ground level and office space on the second floor.

Brandon Korman and Trawick have known each other for several years and both opened second locations opposite one another in Bayshore Commons. Brandon Korman said he had been looking for an opportunity to expand into the Leland market and when he learned of Trawick’s plans, he knew it would be a perfect fit.

“People have been asking us for a long time if we would consider coming to Leland and we are really excited to be a part of this growing community,” Brandon Korman said.

He said he feels that the layout of this cafe makes the best use of space of all three locations. The open dining area offers several seating options, with additional outdoor patio seating.

The first 100 guests Sept. 10 will receive a promo mug that will entitle them to future smoothie discounts. Customers are also invited to participate in a social media promotions and an in-store raffle (your receipt is your entry) offering a variety of prizes including free smoothies or food for one year.

The TSC fall menu features several new wraps and bowls including a Baja and Jerk chicken, as well as new flatbreads. Fall smoothies include green apple matcha and the peanut butter apple power up. Delivery and catering are available at all locations.

A grand opening celebration will take place in October, details of which will be released via social media once they are finalized.
