Viamark Carolinas Advertising has promoted summer social media intern Kaitlyn Baxley to a full-time position as social media coordinator, according to a news release.

Baxley was promoted to her new role after receiving her degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, officials said. With a concentration in marketing strategy, Baxley has nearly two years of experience working with social media platforms first at UNCW, and again while completing two internships with UNCW arts and programs and with Viamark Carolinas this past summer.

"Kaitlyn came to us as an intern who already had a couple of years’ experience creating social media marketing campaigns," Viamark President Bea Raybourne, said in the release. "After an impressive internship with us in which she met and interacted with our customers, and developed an understanding of their needs, we felt she would make an excellent addition to our growing full-time staff."

The Wilmington agency acquired the Charleston Viamark franchise in the fall of 2016 and has seen a steady rise throughout 2017 in small businesses interested in learning how to successfully integrate traditional media strategy with contemporary digital platforms, officials said.
