​Jason Ortiz has earned a certification from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, according to a news release.

Ortiz, a project manager for Cape Fear Solar Systems, has become a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Certified PV (Photovoltaic) System Inspection Professional, officials said.

The national certification is widely recognized in the solar industry. To become NABCEP-certified, solar professionals must pass an exam, sign a code of ethics and take continuing education courses for re-certification every three years, stated the release. 

“I am honored to have earned the highest certification in the solar industry,” Ortiz said in the release. 

Ortiz has been employed with Cape Fear Solar Systems since December 2017. He is among several other NABCEP-certified employees with the firm.

“We are all really proud of Jason for his achievement,” said Robert Parker, senior project manager and commercial project developer for Cape Fear Solar Systems, in the release.
