Jason McLeod has been appointed to the Cape Fear Community College Board of Trustees, according to a news release.

McLeod is the business development manager for ECS Southeast LLP, stated the release. At ECS, McLeod provides support and leadership to grow the business practices for the company in eastern North Carolina, officials said.

He has also spent nearly a decade in commercial real estate brokerage.

“As a resident of Wilmington for 28 years, I feel a great sense of pride in our community and see CFCC as a key component to providing pathways of opportunity for all people,” McLeod said in the release. “Our region is changing rapidly. CFCC will be nimble and at the forefront providing education and training to meet the needs of existing and future businesses, infrastructure expansion, and population dynamics.”

McLeod was elected this year to serve on the North Carolina Economic Development Association Board of Directors, stated the release. He also serves on the board for North Carolina Southeast, a regional economic development group.

McLeod is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

"We are looking forward to working with Mr. McLeod,” Jim Morton, CFCC president, said in the release. “His expertise and guidance will help CFCC further our commitment to train students for good jobs available locally and to provide outstanding pre-baccalaureate instruction.  Mr. McLeod has worked with area citizens from every walk of life, and his community service has enriched the lives of many.  His experience in local economic development is key to CFCC's goal of helping to build a highly-qualified workforce by providing innovative educational and training opportunities."
