The Wilmington Central Rotary Club recently installed its new board of directors.

At Landfall Country Club for its annual installation dinner, club members thanked outgoing president Bo Dean for his leadership over the past year and swore in incoming president Rebekah Thurston, according to a news release.

Thurston is the youngest president in the group's nearly 25-year history, the release stated.

“I am humbled and honored to lead such a passionate and dedicated group of Rotarians,” Thurston stated in the release. “We are going to have a great year of making a lasting impact on our community.”

In addition to Thurston, the club also installed new president-elect Robert Swigher, vice president Kelly Dedeo, secretary Brittany Reinhart, treasurer Jeannette Woodruff, sargeant at arms Fred Kumpel and director Kyle Martin.

According to the release, Wilmington Central Rotary is a group of businesspeople in the Wilmington area that help individuals and organizations by donating time and contributing financially. The group meets in person at noon every Tuesday at Wrightsville Beach Brewery, 6201 Oleander Drive, Wilmington.
