WilmingtonBiz Talk: State Legislators Discuss The Bridge, The Budget, Medicaid Expansion And More

By Staff Reports, posted Aug 4, 2022
State legislators who represent New Hanover County shared their views on the state budget, the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge and more topics of concern to Wilmington-area residents during Thursday's WilmingtonBiz Talk.

The $27.9 billion state budget was signed into law by Gov. Roy Cooper in July. Rep. Deb Butler, a Democrat, and Republican Rep. Ted Davis, along with Republican Sen. Michael Lee, discussed what they liked – and didn't like – about the spending plan. They also weighed in on how the bridge, which is nearing the end of its useful life, could be replaced and the challenges the project presents.
