Demia Avery
Podcast Host/Owner, Whatchu’ Doin’ Wilmington

Avery describes her podcast as “designed to highlight the positive people, places and things in our beautiful city of Wilmington.”

She regularly reads WILMA and the Greater Wilmington Business Journal “for both pleasure and business.” “I love the stories about the women in our community that are contributing to the growth of the city. I also use the magazines for work by keeping up with what is going on in our community as well as the ‘who’s who’ in the city.”

Favorite podcasts, of course, include Whatchu’ Doin’ Wilmington. “I love my podcast because it is just not a podcast to talk about what is going on. I love to get into the personal lives and passions of the many people that I interview and interact with.”

For TV: “I am such a big kid. I love to watch the Disney Channel or older shows like The Love Boat or The Brady Bunch. When I have had a busy or a hard day these shows ease my mind. Keep it simple!”

Author recommendation: Lisa Nichols. For other reading, “I am a big fan of motivation and books that promote wellness. I am also an author of an eBook entitled The Roadblock is You on Amazon.”

On movies: “Although romantic comedies are my thing, I recently watched The Woman King, starring Viola Davis, and I LOVED IT!”
