Physician-owned Wilmington Dermatology Center has been acquired by DermCare Management, a Florida-based practice management firm.
According to a press release issued earlier this month, DermCare Management acquired Wilmington Dermatology and Fort Worth Plastic Surgery, expanding its network to nearly 50 brands and 100 locations.
“We are thrilled to welcome two exceptional practices to the DermCare family,” said DermCare Management CEO Jeffrey Schillinger in the release. “Fort Worth Plastic Surgery and Wilmington Dermatology Center share our commitment to clinical excellence, patient-centered care and community impact. These acquisitions represent strategic growth in both the aesthetic surgery and integrated dermatology spaces, unlocking new opportunities for innovation and expanded access to high-quality services.”
Wilmington Dermatology will retain the clinical autonomy of its physicians while merging with DermCare’s support infrastructure, including marketing, revenue cycle management, human resources and technology, according to the release. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The Wilmington practice was founded by Rosalyn George, a board-certified dermatologist, in 2008. The practice is one of the top dermatology providers in North Carolina, and is in the top 1% of Botox and filler practices in the nation, according to its website.
The practice provides medical treatments for skin conditions, as well as advanced cosmetic, laser, and medical spa procedures and participates in clinical trials.
TM Capital served as an exclusive financial advisor to Wilmington Dermatology.
