The Power of Effort

Sponsored Content provided by Mike Barnhart - Founder, Axis Fitness

It all comes down to effort.

To make our mark in the fitness industry, we understood that we had to measure factors that are commonly overlooked in most programming.  We wanted to create and understand the most effective methodology of training.

The fitness space is one of the most competitive industries in the  world. It takes creativity and energy to get folks inside our locations. It takes exceptional culture and a world-class training experience to keep people coming back, day after day, week after week  and year after year.

We use technology that measures effort to analyze and monitor the effectiveness of training. Effort is one of the most evolving biological responses that we have with our body. Over time our idea of effort can  soften and we forget what giving 100% feels like. Some of us still know  what it takes, but others have no idea what their body is capable of.

That's what we do at Axis Fitness+Training. Our facilities and workouts are  designed to measure effort over time in the three core elements that drive complete fitness. These elements are Strength, Endurance and Conditioning. We are able to personalize each athlete’s workout by referencing five heart rate zones, measured by percentage of maximum heart rate. Each section of the workout- Strength, Endurance, and Conditioning- requires a different zone for maximum results.

Our workouts take athletes through lower  intensity guided strength movements, to build muscle and strength. A few rounds of circuit training, to build more endurance and stability, that work assisting muscle groups to the primary strength movement. And finally a conditioning  element, high intensity interval, that increases metabolic rate and maximizes the calorie burn of each workout. In the end, we've created total metabolic disruption in the body, and there is nothing else like it.

If you ever want to see what 100% feels like, I challenge you to put on a  heart rate monitor. Hop on a tread, bike, rower or whatever your cardio poison of choice may be. Understand for the first time, maybe in a long time, the effort it takes to give 100% .

The POWER of our workouts is in having our head, our heart, and your body  singularly focused on one goal. Now that we have your attention and your curiosity, check out an Axis Fitness GT3 class at any of our three locations. Strap on a heart rate monitor, and see where effort really takes you!!

See you in the gym!
