Spa, Expanded Furniture Showroom, New Primary Care Practice Among Recent Openings

By Staff Reports, posted Mar 15, 2024

Recent and upcoming grand openings in the Wilmington area include a wellness business, an outdoor and sunroom furniture seller and a primary care provider, according to news releases.

Prime IV Hydration & Wellness, 140 Hays Lane, Suite 160 in Wilmington, held a grand opening Thursday.

"IV Hydration Therapy, offered exclusively at Prime IV, is a cutting-edge wellness solution administered by licensed medical professionals in a serene spa environment," according to a news release shared by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce.

The therapy delivers fluids infused with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system and ensuring maximum absorption. IV Hydration Therapy offers "a rapid and efficient way to replenish vital nutrients," the release stated.

"Prime IV Hydration & Wellness is dedicated to helping our clients live their best lives by providing tailored wellness solutions that address a wide range of needs," said Melanie Smallwood, co-owner and manager of Prime IV Wilmington, in the release. "Our IV Hydration Therapy offers a holistic approach to health and vitality, promoting optimal hydration, immune support, and rejuvenation from the inside out."

Prime IV Hydration & Wellness is a medically supervised spa. Brandon Smallwood, a local physician, is the co-owner and medical director.

Founded by CEO Amy Neary in Colorado Springs, Prime IV has more than 100 locations nationwide, with Wilmington hosting the second location in North Carolina, according to the release.

Porch Concepts recently celebrated its "expansive" new furniture showroom at 7036 Market St. in Wilmington.

According to a release shared by the chamber, Porch Concepts specializes in outdoor and sunroom furniture and has over 24,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor showroom space.

Founded in 2015 by Paul and Mary Maki, Porch Concepts "has experienced exponential growth owing to its stellar reputation for top-notch customer service and high-quality products. Originally conceived as a complement to their existing business, Porch Conversion, Porch Concepts has since evolved into a premier destination for those seeking to transform their outdoor spaces."

In 2021, the Makis redirected their focus entirely to Porch Concepts, according to the release.

"At Porch Concepts, we are not merely a retail store; we are collaborators in our customers' vision for their outdoor sanctuaries," said April Aldridge, general manager, in the release. "Our professional design team works tirelessly to bring those visions to life, ensuring every space is as unique as the individuals who inhabit them."

Avance Care, a primary care provider with more than 30 locations in the Triangle and Charlotte region, recently announced the upcoming grand opening of its newest and first primary care location in Wilmington. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. April 17 at 3409 Oleander Drive.

According to the release, Avance Care practices offer comprehensive primary care that includes onsite mental health therapists, nutrition services, X-rays and labs, with same-day and next-day appointments available.

"Avance Care Wilmington will also offer specialized sports medicine services not found at most primary care practices," the release stated.

Dr. Rock Vomer, a dual board-certified family and sports medicine physician and doctor of physical therapy, leads the Wilmington location.
The Avance Care Wilmington Primary Care team also includes Sophie Zientek, a physician assistant and primary care provider, and Laurin Watts, a registered dietitian.
