Yogasleep recently introduced a product designed to help parents monitor their baby’s sleeping habits.
Founded in 1962 in Wilmington, the company is the original creator of the fan-based sound machine and produces an array of sleep products, including sound machines and mattresses.
In 2023, Yogasleep filed a lawsuit against Pivot International, a product development and manufacturing firm, claiming that the former breached a contract by shipping thousands of malfunctioning products.
According to court filings, the lawsuit, which alleged that the incident caused Yogasleep’s brand to be “irreparably damaged,” was resolved last April, with both parties seeking dismissal.
The company’s latest launch – called the Vue Smart Baby Monitor and Sleep Coaching System – is tailored to a baby’s routines and sleep cues, offering personalized sleep coaching and insights, according to a news release.
Yogasleep, which houses warehousing and manufacturing operations in a 64,400-square-foot facility in Wilmington, built the Vue system around four pillars: 4K video with 130° wide-angle view; expert-guided, personalized sleep plans; flexible mounting options; and built-in journaling.
"Parents today are overwhelmed with choices but underserved when it comes to real, personalized sleep guidance for their babies," said Scott Peterson, Senior Vice President of Product at Yogasleep in the release.
"With Vue, we set out to solve both sides of that equation at once – delivering the premium hardware experience parents expect while pairing it with sleep coaching that is genuinely evidence-based and built around each family's unique situation,” he said.
The new Yogasleep Grow App and Sleep Coaching System, which supports the Vue Smart Baby Monitor, includes HD monitor integration, a daily tracking journal and a sleep plan developed by a pediatric sleep therapist.
As for the personalized sleep plans, each plan is “customized to the baby's age, routines, temperament and environment,” according to the release. The product also supports audio monitoring via both a standalone audio monitor and the mobile app.
In addition, the plans are developed by a licensed developmental therapist specializing in pediatric sleep intervention, and each plan follows evidence-based practices supported by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP, the release stated.
"Vue was built to give parents something they can trust and lean on – not something that adds to the weight of an already full season," said Courtney Palm, a pediatric sleep specialist, in the release.
"The sleek monitor design fits seamlessly into any home, while the personalized app support is grounded in AAP and AASM guidelines—a system designed to grow with your family,” she said.
The new product is now available on the company’s website and will be available on Amazon and Target later in the summer.
