Southport-Oak Island Chamber Announces Summer Awards

The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce recently recognized 32 local businesses with Summer 2026 Golden Pineapple Awards during a ceremony held at the chamber.

"The Golden Pineapple Awards are presented quarterly to chamber member businesses nominated by their customers for providing consistent and exceptional customer service," according to a news release. "The pineapple is recognized internationally as a symbol of hospitality, making it a fitting representation of the outstanding service celebrated through this chamber program."

Summer 2026 Golden Pineapple Award winners are:

  • Accommodations: Better Beach Rentals & Sales; Margaret Rudd & Associates Inc. Realtors (Rentals); Oak Island Accommodations; and River Hotel of Southport.
  • Activities, Attractions & Entertainment: Cape Fear Fitness; Cape Fear Yoga and Wellness Center; CrossFit Southport; and Yoga Unlimited.
  • Food & Beverage: Bald Head Coffee and Tea House; Big Pups Coffee Company; and The Tiki Tavern.
  • Professionals: Brian Williams, CPA, PLLC; Hamilton Realty Group eXp Realty; Margaret Rudd & Associates Inc. Realtors; and Pinnacle Mortgage Corp.
  • Retail: BeachLife Sweets OKI; Boo & Roo’s; Coastal Blue Gift Shoppe; Doodles Market & Convenience; Dunes Mercantile Gifts & Guitars; and Southport Cheese Shoppe.
  • Professionals: Brian Williams, CPA, PLLC; Hamilton Realty Group eXp Realty; Margaret Rudd & Associates Inc. Realtors (Sales); and Pinnacle Mortgage Corp.

Nominations for the next Golden Pineapple Awards, Small Business of the Year and Nonprofit of the Year will be accepted through October 31, 2026.
