Before joining Porters Neck Village, Jennifer spent her career as a team leader, charge nurse, staff nurse and a clinical manager on a med/surg unit at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Today, she brings that clinical expertise and compassionate leadership to every resident she serves. 

Whether a resident is hospitalized unexpectedly, recovering from surgery, managing a chronic illness, or simply preparing for an important doctor's appointment, Jennifer helps coordinate the many moving pieces of healthcare. She works closely with physicians, hospital case managers, therapists, and care providers to ensure residents have the resources they need to recover successfully and safely return home. 

"Healthcare can be incredibly complex," Jennifer says. "My goal is to make sure residents never have to navigate it alone." 

Her role often begins before a resident even leaves the hospital. Jennifer reviews discharge plans, helps coordinate follow-up care, arranges home health services when needed, and works with residents and their families to ensure everyone understands the next steps. She also checks in on residents receiving rehabilitation or higher levels of care, helping ensure their needs continue to be met throughout their recovery. 

Sometimes, her support is as simple as sitting beside a resident during a virtual physician appointment, helping them ask questions, understand medical recommendations, or remember important information. 

Families quickly discover that Jennifer becomes their trusted point of contact. Whether children live across town or across the country, they know there's someone local who understands their loved one's situation and is advocating for their well-being. 

Many residents affectionately describe Jennifer as their "Type A daughter"—the organized, knowledgeable person who keeps everyone informed, asks the important questions, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks. 

It's a role that's difficult to quantify but impossible to overstate.
