UNCW's Career Fairs: A Model of Excellence

Sponsored Content provided by Janeé L Folston - Associate Director Employer Development, UNCW

With over 15 years of experience in education, the last two of which I've spent as the Associate Director of Employer Development at UNC Wilmington, I can honestly say that the work we do at the Career Center is incredibly fulfilling. Every day, I have the privilege of fostering innovative partnerships and connecting our talented students with the companies that will shape their future careers. Career fairs are just one of many ways we connect students and employers, but they are one of my favorite ways to help students succeed in their career endeavors.

When you think of career fairs, you might picture crowded halls filled with students nervously clutching their resumes, but at UNCW, our career fairs are so much more than that. These events are dynamic, interactive platforms that provide invaluable opportunities for both students and employers alike.

UNCW's career fairs are renowned for their exceptional quality and organization. We consistently receive positive feedback from employers who praise our students' professionalism, preparedness, and communication skills. Our commitment to creating a seamless experience for both students and employers has led to a steady increase in employer attendance, attracting top companies from Wilmington and beyond.

Our unique "Teal Carpet Experience" is at the heart of what makes our career fairs stand out. We believe that preparation is key to success, which is why we invest in preparing our students. Our dedicated career counselors offer personalized guidance on everything from crafting a tailored resume to mastering interview techniques and selecting professional attire. On the day of the fair, our staff from the Career Center and various departments are hands-on to assist, ensuring that both students and employers have a seamless and supportive experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and engaging, designed to foster meaningful connections between students and employers that go beyond the typical job fair.

By attending UNCW's career fairs, students and employers can benefit from a dynamic and impactful experience. Our commitment to excellence ensures that these events serve as valuable platforms for professional development and networking, making them essential for students and employers alike.

Employers, Why Attend Our Career Fairs?
