Mortgage Firm Moves To Office At Mayfaire Town Center

By Cece Nunn, posted May 18, 2022
The Wilmington branch of a national mortgage company is setting up shop in Mayfaire Town Center.

CrossCountry Mortgage LLC moved from an office at 1638 Military Cutoff to 820 Town Center Drive, a storefront on the same row as Palmetto Moon and Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, among other businesses at the center.

Benjamin Hawkins, originating branch manager, said the mortgage firm’s new location is currently open with plans to hold a grand opening celebration in a couple of months.

“We moved from there to Mayfaire simply due to the visibility, the excitement of the area, the atmosphere, the walk-in ability for people to come in if they happen to live in that area or they're out shopping and want to investigate getting a mortgage,” Hawkins said.

As an added bonus, Hawkins said, “it’s the nicest shopping area in the county, in my opinion. To me it has some prestige to it, to be there.”

The new location is about 3,700 square feet, 1,700 square feet bigger than CrossCountry Mortgage’s previous Wilmington office.

Hawkins said CrossCountry Mortgage is licensed to do business in 50 states and has more than 7,000 employees nationwide.

Mayfaire Town Center and Mayfaire Community Center have some empty spaces, including the spot previously occupied by Pier 1 Imports.

But in addition to CrossCountry Mortgage, new tenants recently confirmed include Art in Bloom Gallery, which is moving from downtown 6866 Main St. in Mayfaire Town Center, and Renoja, a wellness center that offers numerous services coming to 6815 Parker Farm Drive in Mayfaire Community Center.
