Some local Novant Health employees experienced payment delays Friday, according to social media posts and reports sent to local TV stations WWAY and WECT.
In a statement to the Business Journal on Friday, a spokesperson for Novant Health acknowledged the delay and said the issue has been resolved. They attributed the disruption to a “technology issue” following the healthcare provider’s transition to a new payroll distribution vendor, ADP, last month.
According to a spokesperson, the disruption was systemwide.
“Novant Health switched to a new payroll distribution vendor in October. Following that transition, we identified a technology issue that impacted the arrival time of deposits into each financial institution’s account,” the spokesperson said in an emailed statement. “Payroll has been completed, and funds have been transmitted to financial institutions for deposit. ADP, our payroll vendor, has confirmed that payments will reach bank accounts today.”
“We sincerely apologize for the frustration and concern this delay has caused," the spokesperson continued. "We are taking immediate steps to support affected team members, including reimbursing overdraft, late or returned-payment fees resulting from the delay.”
“We will communicate directly with team members about these resources, including how to request reimbursement, and are working to ensure this does not happen again."
