UNCW Executive MBA Students Travel to Prague For Residency

Sponsored Content provided by Robert Burrus - Dean , Cameron School of Business - UNC-Wilmington

Eighteen Executive MBA students from the Cameron School of Business recently completed a week-long international residency in Prague, Czech Republic.

As part of their consulting project, the students were tasked with developing a strategic plan for a new youth tennis academy in South Bohemia. Their approach focused on leveraging the proven methodologies and key success factors that have contributed to the remarkable achievements of Czech youth tennis players over the past decade.

In addition to their project work, the group engaged with local companies and business leaders to gain insights into Czech business practices. They also had the opportunity to explore Prague, deepening their understanding of the country’s rich history and vibrant culture.

The students’ contributions included conducting market research and benchmarking, creating a service portfolio leveraging Czech expertise, and identifying potential international markets. At the end of the residency, the students presented actionable recommendations for sustainable growth.

UNCW’s Executive MBA program is intended for current leaders to help hone their business acumen. The program allows students to deepen their knowledge in core business operational areas including:

  • Business law
  • Accounting
  • Information analysis
  • Operations management
  • Economics and corporate finance
  • Marketing
  • Strategic management

As part of the online EMBA program students participate in two on-campus residencies along with a one-week international residency at one of several locations in Europe or Asia. Courses are taught by full-time professors with terminal degrees and practical management experience in the private sector.
