Why Pursue an HR Certificate as a Non-HR Professional?

Sponsored Content provided by Robert Burrus - Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, University of North Carolina - Wilmington

Are you a busy, working professional who is looking to enhance your credibility but is worried you don't have the time for a full-time degree program? If you have studied business management or related topics and are looking for ways to increase your knowledge, skills, and credibility in the workplace, the Post-Baccalaureate Human Resource Management certification is for you.

Human resources is not just for HR professionals. Any supervisor, manager, or executive will spend at least 25% to 40% of their work week performing HR-related tasks.

This program is offered completely online, and you can progress as quickly or slowly as your work and life allows. The instructional materials are made available online 24 hours/day.

In less than a year, you can complete six graduate-level courses covering all aspects of the most critical knowledge needed for successful HR professionals and those in managerial roles with significant HR responsibilities.

Courses include:

  • Management (required)

  • Human Capital Staffing & Selection (required)

  • Strategic Management

  • Total Rewards

  • HR Analytics

  • International HR Management

  • Employee Relations & Development

You will develop strategic HR thinking, become proficient in talent acquisition and retention, and become well-versed in HR laws and ethical considerations. You will also practice designing and implementing training and development programs.

The deadline for Fall 2, 2025 (classes begin on October 20) is coming up on September 27, 2025.
